Fine Art by South African Artist Andrew Cooper
South African artist Andrew Cooper is one of Africa's newly discovered fine artists. Painting vivid African landscapes, Cape seascapes, female nudes, classic still lifes and select European scenes, he brings out a unique sense of realism using soft illuminating effect of light on different forms within each painting. In conjunction with light and colour, Andrew endeavours to capture those moments where the majestic beauty and appreciation of a scene brings us to a standstill. All these subjects undergo a change in appearance and mood "When light rests on them allowing the viewer to see them in a new light.", says Andrew.
Andrew' Cooper's prefered medium is acrylic paint on canvas. Andrew prefers to work on large canvases when crafting fine art seascape and landscape paintings as their mere size assists in the interpretation of the grandeur and depth of the painted scene. The viewer is invited to experience the sensation of stepping into the painting. When crafting female nude paintings, Andrew tries to capture the pure moments when a woman is at ease with herself. He feels that nothing should be posed about a nude, it should always be envisaged as a natural moment in time.
Andrew Cooper has been commissioned by Signature Golf Art, in association with Gary Player & Black Knight International to paint the most spectacular Gary Player designed signature golf courses. Andrew's fine art paintings are sold as investment art to both private and corporate collectors in South Africa, America and Britain. Andrew also undertakes a limited number of painting commissions each year.
